PROGRAM DESIGN
This program is designed to provide fellows with advanced and concentrated training in Sleep Medicine and prepares them to be competent physicians in their field. Training follows ACGME competencies in medical knowledge, communication skills, professionalism, systems-based practice, patient care, and practice-based learning that is critical for Sleep Medicine physicians to attain. The fellows will work in different settings including inpatient hospital care, outpatient clinic and hospice care. The fellowship incorporates aspects of internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, neurology, surgery, epidemiology and basic science.
Additionally, structured didactic lectures, morning report, and journal clubs are included in the curriculum to supplement experiential learning with an emphasis on patient-oriented, evidence-based studies.
