PROGRAM DESIGN
Our program is heavily oriented towards excellence and mastery of general internal medicine. The PGY-1 is designed to allow our new residents to acclimate to the hospital environment, learn to function as part of a hospitalist team, and exposure to some of the core specialties within the hospital. As the resident progress through PGY-2 and PGY-3, the resident is expected to take on a graduated increase in responsibility of one’s patients while furthering their exposure to the subspecialties of medicine. Throughout the three-year curriculum, residents also foster a consistent and growing relationship with a set panel of patients through their outpatient continuity clinic. Attendance of the continuity clinic is on a weekly basis at the same clinical site for the entirety of the three-year program.
