MEET OUR DIRECTOR
Alberto Burgos-Tiburcio, M.D
Thank you for your interest in our Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program at Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Campus. We are excited to offer an ACGME-accredited fellowship program that provides a variety of clinical experiences for fellows. Our program works closely with different fellowship specialties and offers combined noon conferences for enhanced learning opportunities.
Our program is proud to welcome fellows from diverse backgrounds, including recent residency graduates. We offer robust clinical training that is supplemented with a comprehensive didactic curriculum spanning the academic year. Our mission is to prepare physicians as providers, consultants, and leaders of tomorrow in hospice and palliative medicine.
At Larkin Community Hospital, we are a community-based practice with a strong Hispanic population. Our fellows get the opportunity to train in an inpatient consult service and hospice and palliative care unit, as well as outpatient facilities. Our program’s objectives include functioning as a hospice medical director, participating in a leadership role in a palliative care consult service, providing support to palliative care patients in outpatient and home-based settings, and offering effective teaching to physicians in training, primary physicians, staff, and the community.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help prepare you for a fulfilling career in hospice and palliative medicine.
Sincerely,
Alberto Burgos-Tiburcio, M.D
