MEDICAL STUDENTS

An audition rotation is highly recommended for you to familiarize yourself with our program. We encourage both D.O and M.D applicants to rotate with our program – we seek to have equal representation in training backgrounds.

Audition rotations are scheduled from June to February. To schedule a rotation, please click on Apply to fill out an application. Audition rotation applications will be accepted starting March 1, 2025.

ERAS APPLICATION

The Larkin Community Hospital Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program participates in the National Residency Match Program and takes applications for residency through ERAS. Please complete the ERAS application process which includes:

  • School transcript
  • USMLE and/or COMLEX scores
  • Photograph
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • Dean’s letter

INTERVIEWS

Interviews at this time will be held virtually with interview dates and times to be determined. You will need access to a computer with webcam capabilities as well as stable internet access.

The interview process will consist of (subject to change):

  • Interviews with the program director, faculty, and current residents
  • Radiographic interpretation
  • Basic orthopaedic management

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does your program take both MDs and DOs ?

Yes, both candidates are considered equally.

Is there housing available at your away rotations?

Yes, there is housing that is already paid for at the following locations: Delray Beach, Orlando, Tampa, and Roanoke. Housing in the Miami area will need to be taken care of by the resident.

Where do you choose to live in Miami?

There have been many locations of choice. In the past, residents have lived in Brickell, Kendall, and Coral Gables. Other residents have chosen to live further north to be near both Miami and Delray beach including: Davie and Fort Lauderdale.

Do you allow 3rd-year medical students to rotate?

Yes, we allow 3rd-year medical students to rotate during March, April, and May. Priority is given to students from Larkin-affiliated medical schools. If positions remain available, we consider other applicants on a case-by-case basis. For further inquiries or to apply, please email ortholarkin@gmail.com.
