PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS

Psychiatry is an ACGME-accredited Residency Program and participate in the NRMP Match (National Resident Matching Program). Applications are accepted directly through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

  • Official Medical School transcripts.
  • Personal Statement.
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation.
  • Completed Medical School within the past 2 years (exceptions possible).
  • DO applications welcomed.
  • Passed USMLE/COMLEX Step 1, Step 2 Clinical Knowledge on the first attempt
  • Passed USMLE Step 2 CS exam or the COMLEX Level 2 PE exam on the first attempt. Minimum Score the program will consider for interview 210/450 (exceptions possible).
  • COMLEX/USMLE Board scores Step 3 if applicable as follows:
    • If out of medical school for more than two (2) years you must have Step 3 with passing scores.
    • USMLE scores must be over 200.
    • COMLEX Scores must be over 450.
  • Applicants must not be out of medical school for more than 10 years (exceptions possible).
  • IMG’s (International Medical Graduates) are accepted.
  • IMG’S (International Medical Graduates) must provide:
    • Valid ECFMG Certification.
    • Permanent resident status.
    • Clinical Experience in the US (Hands-on Experience Preferred).
    • English Fluency.
  • Larkin Community Hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Program only sponsors J-1 visas.

Our program only accepts applications through ERAS and applicants are contacted through ERAS for interviews.
